My Story
Hello, Friend
I come from a big, busy family and grew up as the middle child of five. Life was full and noisy, and it was easy to fade into the background now and then. Books found me early. I learned to read young, and stories quickly became both my hiding place and my bridge to the world — a way to slip somewhere quieter, and a way to feel less alone.
I grew up in the quiet corners of local libraries and bookstores, where the scent of leather and old paper was the only perfume I ever cared for. My favorite days were spent tracing the golden embossing on leather-bound spines, imagining the worlds that lived inside. Those dusty bookshelves weren’t’ just storage – they were gates to mountains, oceans, and taverns where the fire never went out.
That comfort never faded. I’ve always been a reader who goes all in, burrowing deep into a genre for years at a time or following a single recommendation straight down a delightful rabbit hole. Books steadied me through the rougher chapters of college, and later through even harder seasons while serving in the Navy — where my lifelong love of coffee also began to brew.
Now, more than thirty years later, books are still my constant companions. They are my haven, my calm, my steady hearth. I’ve long dreamed of creating a space that carries that same feeling for others — a place where stories live in the air, where coffee is always warm, and where people can simply be.
That dream is what will become The Bookwyrm Café. Opening The Bookwyrm is the realization of a dream I’ve carried since those rainy childhood afternoons. I wanted to build a hearth of my own, a place where the tea is always steeping and the silence is comfortable. It will be a space for those who, like me, find their greatest adventures between the pages of a book and their greatest comfort in a warm mug and a soft chair.

Based on that dream, The Bookwyrm will be a tribute to the legendary guardians of stories. In our café, the 'hoard' will consist of carefully selected artifacts, volumes, and beverages that evoke a sense of deep timelessness. We believe that every object in a room should whisper a story, turning our space into a living anthology of silent narratives meant to be discovered, whether you stay for five minutes or five hours.
Every title on our shelves will be hand-picked to balance the nostalgic scent of aged parchment with the crisp excitement of new adventures. Our decorations—from vintage brass telescopes to pressed winter botanicals—will be sourced from local markets and artisans who share our obsession for the whimsical and the arcane details of the past.
The Bookwyrm Café will be designed as a sanctuary hidden between pages. It is a place of gentle magic, where the warmth of the hearth and the steady hum of the grinder create an atmosphere where every visitor feels safe, inspired, and deeply at home, allowing the world outside to simply fade away.
